Three entirely different apartment establishments are located between Pickleweed Marsh and Miller Ave. near Tam High. The Redwoods, a Community of Seniors is at 40 Camino Alto. It was founded in 1972 by the Community Church of Mill Valley. On its10-acre site are one-bedroom, two-bedroom and studio apartments in interconnected buildings. Renting the apartments are 330 residents, all over 65 years old. Amenities include a library, beauty shop, a garden for residents, auditorium, dining room and laundry facilities. Optional services include personal care, three meals daily, and access to a skilled nursing facility. Pickleweed Apartments at 625–695 Miller is a low cost housing facility with 32 affordable apartments for rent on a two-acre city-owned site. It opened in 1986. Financial Partners are The Buck Trust, San Francisco Foundation and the City of Mill Valley. It is one of 20 bay area affordable housing projects managed by BRIDGE Housing. The third establishment is Mill Creek Meadows at 701-899 Miller. It opened in 1984 offering 60 one-, two-, and three- bedroom luxury condominiums for sale. Amenities include garages for the tenants, a swimming pool and a spa.
