MVHS 1st Wed Speaker: Environmentalist Huey Johnson
MILL VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY PRESENTS:
Environmentalist Huey Johnson
Wednesday, April 1st
Creekside Room – 7:30pm
Drawing on lessons learned from five decades of environmental leadership and preservation, Johnson will offer his views on the next wave of environmental protection, and the need for a new generation of advocates to help shape that wave. Johnson served as California Secretary of Resources under the first Brown Administration and founded the Resource Renewal Institute.
As President of the Nature Conservancy, he was instrumental in conservation victories including the Bolinas Lagoon and Marincello. He founded the Trust for Public Land and The Grand Canyon Trust. His pioneering policies and land acquisitions helped define much of the land trust movement that has flourished over the last three decades.
