Paul Liberatore & The Liberators

- This event has passed.
Marin Independent Journal music columnist Paul Liberatore was so pleased with the turnout for his recent Mill Valley Library talk and slide show on Marin’s remarkable rock history, and so gratified by the positive feedback he received afterward, that he will be hosting an expanded version — a multi-media show on Marin rock with his band, the Liberators, at 8 p.m. May 22 at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley.
The evening features his band mates — guitarist Jimmy Dillon, keyboardist Austin de Lone, drummer Kevin Hayes and bassist Eric McCann — as well as special guests, including West Marin’s Tim Weed, singing Jesse Colin Young’s Marin hit “Sunlight”; singer Dallis Craft, performing Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart,” saxophonist Keith Crossan’s tribute to Big Man Clarence Clemons and former Talking Head Jerry Harrison’s rendition of “Take Me to the River.”
So, if you missed the library event, or if you’d just like to learn more about this incredibly musical county we live in and and hear some of the music that made it famous, played live, then you won’t want to miss the Liberators at Sweetwater. Tickets are $15 at sweetwatermusichall.com.
