Take a trip to the heady days of 1960s-1980s Mill Valley as “a Rock and Roll mecca” in a walking tour of downtown locations connected to this music history. See the music halls and music stores frequented by both homegrown and world-famous musicians and bands.

Live and recorded music, interviews with the musicians, films, and opportunities to share your own memories and stories. Live music from Rita Abrams, Dore Coller, the Vivants, Gary Schueuenstuhl and Fat Saturday Night. Live interviews with Charlie Kelly, John Goddard, Tim Cain, Mitch Howie, John Allair. Videos of many of the musicians who put Mill Valley on the rock ‘n roll map, including Marty Balin and Jesse Barish.

This is an all-day event, beginning at 9 am and ending at 4 pm. Self-guided tours start at the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce office on Throckmorton Avenue. Tickets also include live and recorded events at Sweetwater Music Hall and the downtown plaza. Check back here for event schedule.

Children welcome. Well behaved dogs on leash allowed at outdoor venues.

Note: Mill Valley and Marin County COVID regulations in place at the time of the Walk will apply.
